Summary
The documentation provides both Azure CLI and PowerShell examples for most operations, which is good for cross-platform parity. However, in the PowerShell sections, the documentation recommends and exclusively uses ARMClient, a Windows-centric tool (distributed as armclient.exe), without mentioning Linux/macOS alternatives or how to use ARMClient on those platforms. There are no Bash/curl or other Linux-native REST examples, and the PowerShell instructions implicitly assume a Windows environment. This creates friction for Linux/macOS users who prefer native tools or may not be able to run ARMClient easily.
Recommendations
- Add Bash/curl examples for REST operations alongside Azure CLI and PowerShell.
- Clarify whether ARMClient works on Linux/macOS, and provide installation/use instructions for those platforms if supported.
- Mention cross-platform alternatives to ARMClient, such as using curl, httpie, or the Azure CLI's 'az rest' command.
- Where PowerShell is used, note that PowerShell Core (v7+) is cross-platform, but clarify any Windows-specific limitations.
- Ensure that all tooling recommendations are platform-agnostic or provide platform-specific guidance.
